Wisdom: Educating the Heart
Question of the Week
Am
I educating my mind as well as my heart?
Something to Think About
Knowledge
without wisdom is a load of books on a fool's back.
Japanese
proverb
A
person can have all the knowledge in the world and still make foolish
choices. When we learn to be wise, we learn the difference between
right and wrong, good and bad, the truth and a lie. We learn to
make better choices. The knowledge we get from books is very important,
but so is learning to make wise choices.
Something to Write About
Tell about a time you or someone you know
made a poor choice and learned about a better choice.

Others

How can I be more respectful of myself
and others?

You will not be respected unless you respect
yourself.
Mexican

If we want others to
respect us, we must respect ourselves. Some ways we show respect
for ourselves are: making good choices, taking care of our bodies,
and doing our best in school.
Something to Write About

Tolerance
in Our Global Village
Question of the Week
Am I a tolerant person?
Something to Think About
The highest result of education is tolerance.
Helen
Keller
To tolerate means to
let another person have his or her opinion even when we don't agree.
Someone you know may have blue skin and think it is bad to eat meat.
You may have purple skin and think that hamburgers are the best.
A tolerant person says, "We look different and we don't agree,
but we can still treat each other with respect."
Something to Write About
Describe why it is good that people look
different and have different ideas.
