"Project Wisdom"

Dear Editor,

I am an 8th grade student at Green County Middle School. This nine weeks I was recognized along with three other people for showing good citizenship. I was rewarded with a certificate, two movie passes, two Cokes, and two popcorns. I was chosen by a program that's called Project Wisdom.

This program helps teach character, values, good citizenship, and ways to resist negative peer pressure. Every morning we have the words of wisdom which is said over the intercom, and it gives a good positive word before starting your day.

It teaches values, self-confidence, cooperation, respect, tolerance, positive attitude, and much more, but it's mostly about respecting others as well as yourself and setting a good example for the people around you.

I really appreciate the middle school for selecting me, and I'm glad to know people look up to me and think of me in a positive, respectful way.

Dear Editor,

The Green County Middle School has a program called Project Wisdom. Project Wisdom teaches character values and good citizenship. This program also teaches ways to resist negative peer pressure.

Each nine weeks, four different students from the middle school are awarded with the Golden Rule Award. If you win the Golden Rule Award, you receive two movie passes, two Cokes, two popcorns, and a certificate. You receive this award for honorable behavior that personifies the golden rule. "We should behave to our friends as we would wish our friends to behave to us." Aristotle said this.

Each week has a theme of a different value such as: confidence, cooperation, education, integrity, positive attitude, patriotism, tolerance, and respect. I'd like to thank Mr. Mills and the rest of the middle school for selecting me for this award.

Dear Editor,

Green County Middle School has a program called Project Wisdom. Every nine weeks, four middle schoolers are chosen for the Golden Rule Award. I was the seventh grader who was chosen for that award for the first nine weeks. The other students who won were Samantha Jones, Jacob Buchanan and Jacob Haines. If you win this award, you will receive two movie passes that include two small Cokes, and two small popcorns.

Project Wisdom helps teach character values and good citizenship. It also teaches ways to resist peer pressure. Each week we have a theme to teach us one of these character values. We have a weekly writing to discuss the question of the week, and we have a daily message over the intercom. This program tries to help you have values, good citizenship, and how to respect others. This also teaches ways to resist negative peer pressure. Everyone needs to listen to the message given each week at our school.

I am very glad, as well as happy for receiving this award.

I would also like to thank the Green County Middle School for selecting me for the Golden Rule Award.

Thanks again.
Jacob
