Themes: Weekly and
Monthly
Secondary
Our Weekly and Monthly Themes help establish a "virtue vocabulary"
on campus and provide a focal point for the week or month. These themes
represent specific values as well as the benefits or application
of those values (e.g., "Courage and Confidence: Overcoming Obstacles").
Project Wisdom has been implemented in many different types of schools
with a variety of schedules and needs. Some want to use Weekly Themes,
some Monthly. Some schools start early and some late. The result is
that we've sorted the broadcast messages and the journals for all
three series in a variety of ways to accommodate different requests.
If you are planning to use the weekly or monthly themes, it's important
to know that because the ERS content addresses many calendar events,
these topics may or may not fit within the theme you choose for any
particular week. Consider setting aside one day per week to broadcast
these special messages schoolwide and then implement the corresponding
lesson plan. These tools work really well for weekly advisory, character
education, life skills, or enrichment classes.
Sorting the Broadcast
Messages and Journals into Themes
Weekly Themes - We show you how to manually
sort the broadcast messages into thirty-six Weekly Themes and
then give you direct access to the corresponding journal entries.
Monthly Themes - Whether your school starts early
or late, we show you how to manually sort the broadcast messages
into ten Monthly Themes and then give you direct access to the
corresponding journal entries.
